Rev. Dr. Greg Roth - Senior Pastor

Rev. Dr. Greg Roth

Senior Pastor

Greg Roth, and his wife, Marsha, have served for 17 years as pastors of Centerville Presbyterian Church in Fremont, CA. They have two grown children.

Greg and Marsha bring a genuine sincerity to preaching and prayer, with an exposition of whole chapters of scripture that generally follow twelve weeks through a Bible book. The congregation is encouraged to follow along and discusses the chapter the previous week. Greg is an expository preacher with a great sense of humor, who emphasizes the practical application of scripture in his messages. Their desire is that every attender of the church join a weekly discussion group for growth and personal support.

They have been frequent Marriage Enrichment speakers at Mount Hermon Christian Conference Center, and continue to work in encouraging strong marriages through seminars and consultations among the missionary community. Greg has served with the Navigators ministries in Ghana, West Africa. His Masters and Doctorate are from Fuller Seminary.

During their 17 years of ministry in Fremont, the congregation has been actively engaged in the community. Greg has chaired Abode Services (Formerly the Tri-Cities Homeless Coalition). He is chairs the board of directors of Presbyterian Frontier Fellowship (a missions mobilization movement across Presbyterian denominations) and Ministries to Muslims. He serves on the board of the Antioch Partners as well (a multi-agency missionary sending ministry.)

Rev. Matt Knapp - Associate Pastor (Children, Youth, and College)

Rev. Matt Knapp

Associate Pastor (Children, Youth, and College)

Matt has been at CPC since June 2008. He grew up in Merced California and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from California State University, Fresno. Matt also earned a Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary.

He has been happily married to his wife Cari since June 2005, has two children, Ethan and Isabella, and a third child on the way. His love for his family and the children and teenagers of our church are only exceeded by his love for God.

Matt leads the ministries to children, students, and their families at CPC. He enjoys working as a team with Seth and Holly.

Matt is kind of a freak when it comes to following baseball. He also really enjoys movies, food, and thinking of random things to pass the time. You also need to know that he is short – and proud of it.

Seth Beardsley - Director of Youth Ministries

Seth Beardsley

Director of Youth Ministries

Seth has been at CPC since January 2013 and is currently serving as the Director of Youth Ministries. He leads the youth ministries for the Junior High (6th-8th grade) and High School (9-12th grade) students. He is also notorious for being called weird and awkward by the youth.

Seth grew up in Merced, California and comes from a very large family of 13, all from the same parents. He has four brothers and six sisters. He is the middle sibling, barely younger than his twin sister, Shiloh. Coming from such a large family might be a big reason why Seth enjoys being around people so much, especially youth. Most of his large family lives in the Central Valley, in or around Merced, California - although one of his sisters lives in Italy. He likes to spend as much time as possible with his family, when he can.

The only thing that Seth considers as more important than his family is his relationship with Jesus Christ.

Seth also loves sports and competition, especially playing basketball. He loves most of the Bay Area teams, and is a hardcore Giants fan. His favorite sport is baseball. He loves playing cards, board games, and pretty much anything that involves competition. He is also a big fan of movies, Netflix, and coffee. Seth usually has some sort of facial hair, which is fitting since his last name is Beardsley.

Seth has a Bachelor of Science in Business Management with a concentration in Human Resources from California State University, Stanislaus. Seth is also currently attending Western Seminary in pursuit of a Master’s Degree in Ministry and Leadership.
